Correct first, coat second

The mistake worth avoiding on a car in this condition is coating it too soon. A ceramic coating is transparent and it lasts for years, so whatever is in the clear coat when it goes on is what you will be looking at for the life of the coating.

That is why the preparation takes most of the appointment. Decontaminate, correct, then coat. Skipping the middle step produces a glossy car with the swirls still visible in direct sunlight, which is the opposite of what anyone is paying for.

Afterwards the maintenance changes rather than disappears: no drive-through brushes, because those are what put the swirls in to begin with; rinse the dust off the drive before it gets ground in; and a maintenance wash when the car needs more than that.
