Ceramic coating in Solana Beach

Salt is the coastal half. It bonds to bare clear coat rather than resting on it, which is why an uncoated car here needs a real wash where a coated one needs a rinse. That change in the routine is what most people notice, ahead of the gloss.

We are an authorized Opti-Coat installer and we fit coatings anywhere in the city. Tiers run from a one-year ceramic paint protection up to Opti-Coat Pro at five years.

Three cars, three different jobs

Most of what comes to us in Solana Beach falls into one of three patterns, and the right tier follows from which one you have.

Parked near the coast. A salt haze settles whether the car has moved or not. The preparation before coating takes longest on these, because bonded salt has to come off completely, and the coating does the most work afterwards.

Commuting from the station end. Uncovered all day, then a short run home. That combination leaves bonded road film on the outside and a baked interior, and it is a case where a coating plus tint does more than either alone.

Garaged above Lomas Santa Fe Drive. Mostly out of the salt, so the coating is doing UV work and the prep stage is usually short. These are maintenance jobs rather than corrections.

Wind, and where we can work

Wind is the practical constraint on coating work this close to the water. It dries panels unevenly and puts grit onto a surface that has to stay perfectly clean while it cures, so an enclosed space makes a visible difference to the result.

A garage is what we would ask for. A carport or a genuinely sheltered spot can work in still conditions. If parking is tight around Cedros or near the station, tell us when you book and we will sort out where the car needs to be rather than improvising on the day.
