Mobile Window Tinting in Fallbrook

Every package lets you choose a shade, measured as VLT, or Visible Light Transmission: the share of visible light the film lets through. 70% is very light, 5% is limousine dark. The strip above shows the five shades side by side.

This is state law rather than a local ordinance, so Fallbrook is no different from anywhere else in California. Front side windows must let at least 70% of visible light through. Rear side windows and the rear windshield can be any shade you like.

Is a 35% tint legal in California?

On the back, yes. A 35% film is legal on rear side windows and the rear windshield and is a common privacy choice. It is not legal on the front two side windows, which are held to 70%. Anyone offering to fit 35% up front is quoting you a fix-it ticket.

The assumption worth correcting is that darker means cooler. It does not. A 70% Apex Ultra ceramic film rejects far more heat than a dark carbon film, because heat rejection comes from ceramic particles in the film and not from how dark it looks. If the problem is a hot cab rather than privacy, put the money into the film and keep the front light.

We will agree the combination with you before anything goes on the glass, so the vehicle stays road-legal and still does the job.

We come to you, which out here is the whole point. Film wants a clean, covered space, so a garage, carport or swept-out barn gives the best result. Dust is the practical issue on a rural property rather than wind: a gravel or dirt drive throws up fine grit that will find its way onto wet glass if we work in the open. Somewhere enclosed makes a visible difference to the finish.

The C2 Carbon film is the exception. It is in-shop only, both as the Bronze full-car tier and as the front-window option, because carbon has to be fitted indoors. That means a run down to our San Marcos shop, roughly half an hour from most of Fallbrook, which is why plenty of customers out here take one of the ceramic tiers we can bring to the property instead.

What the appointment looks like

We are out seven days a week, 7am to 7pm, and we cover Fallbrook from the village and Mission Road out through the groves towards the 76 and the I-15 side. If the property is hard to find or the gate needs a code, tell us when you book. Your technician texts on the way and again when the vehicle is finished.

A full-car tint is normally a half-day job. We need the vehicle with us for the whole appointment and enough room around it to open all the doors.

After we leave

Keep the windows up for three days while the film cures. Haze, small bubbles or trapped moisture straight after an install is normal and clears on its own, usually within one to two weeks. Dry inland heat tends to get it done at the quicker end of that range.
