Carbon and ceramic film, fitted at your property
We install window tint at your place in Bonsall, not ours.
Tint is not only about how the car looks. The right film cuts the heat that builds in a parked car, takes the glare out of a drive and keeps UV off your seats and dash. Bonsall spreads out along the river valley in large lots and horse properties, which usually means vehicles parked in the open and a decent run down the 76 before you get anywhere.
We fit carbon and ceramic films, from a straightforward carbon tint up to Apex Ultra ceramic at 95% heat rejection, and we will tell you honestly which one is worth the difference for how you actually drive. Every package, price and coverage diagram is set out on this page, so you can decide before you call.
Film needs a clean, covered space to go on well, so a garage, carport or clean barn is ideal. Our technicians are licensed and fully insured. Family-run since 1994, rated 5.0 across more than 1,000 five-star reviews on Google, Yelp and Facebook.
Three full-car film tiers, plus front-window and windshield options you can fit on their own. Prices follow the film you choose and the size of the vehicle, from a coupe up to a full-size SUV or truck, because bigger and more complex glass takes more film and more time.
These are our standard county prices, unchanged for Bonsall. Each package shows what the film does, which glass it covers, the shades you can pick and the warranty attached to it.

The only tier that cannot come to you. C2 Carbon has to be fitted indoors at our San Marcos shop, which from Bonsall is a straightforward run but still a trip.

What's included
The usual choice out here, because it can be fitted at the property. Pro Nano rejects a lot more heat than carbon at the same shade.

For trucks, SUVs and anything else that lives outdoors on a rural lot. Apex Ultra gives the biggest drop in cabin temperature we can fit.

For low sun along the 76 through the valley, morning or evening. Windshield film is separate and can be added to any package above.
* Plus tax. All prices are estimates and subject to change until the vehicle has been inspected to verify condition and size/complexity of the windows. A covered area is recommended for installation. Additional labor will not be charged without customer approval. By tinting your windows at Smith Bros, you are acknowledging and agreeing to the Window Tint Disclaimer.
Everything above can be fitted at your Bonsall address except Bronze C2 Carbon, which is in-shop only. The full technical comparison of the GeoShield range is on the main window tinting service page.
Every package lets you choose a shade, measured as VLT, or Visible Light Transmission: the share of visible light the film lets through. 70% is very light and 5% is limousine dark. The strip above puts the five shades side by side.
The limit is set by the state, not locally, so Bonsall is treated the same as everywhere else in California. Front side windows must let at least 70% of visible light through. Rear side windows and the rear windshield can be any shade you like.
On the back, yes. A 35% film is legal on rear side windows and the rear windshield and is a popular privacy choice. It is not legal on the front two side windows, which are held to 70%. Anyone offering 35% up front is quoting you a fix-it ticket.
Worth knowing: darker does not mean cooler. A 70% Apex Ultra ceramic film rejects far more heat than a dark carbon film, because the heat rejection comes from ceramic particles in the film rather than from the shade. If the problem is a hot cabin and not privacy, spend on the film and keep the front light.
We settle the combination with you before anything goes on the glass, so the vehicle is road-legal and still does what you wanted.
We are a GeoShield dealer and fit their film exclusively across all three tiers. The ceramic films use nano-ceramic particles instead of a metal layer to block heat, so they reject a lot of infrared without interfering with phone signal, GPS or tyre-pressure sensors the way older metallised films could.
They resist surface scratching, hold their colour rather than turning purple after a few summers, and both ceramic tiers carry a lifetime film warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking and colour change. Cheap film is cheap because it does none of that.
Out in the valley, the film is up against sustained sun and a lot of dust rather than salt. Neither harms film that has been fitted properly, but both show up sloppy edge work quickly, and dyed budget film fades under exactly this kind of exposure.
The full film-by-film comparison is on the main window tinting service page.
We come to you: the house, the barn, the yard, wherever the vehicle actually lives. Film wants a clean, covered space, so a garage, carport or swept barn gives the best result. On rural lots the practical enemy is dust rather than wind, since anything moving on a dirt or gravel drive throws grit into the air, and wet glass catches it.
The C2 Carbon film is the exception, being in-shop only both as the Bronze full-car tier and as the front-window option. That work happens at our San Marcos shop. From Bonsall it is an easy enough run, but it is the reason most customers out this way take one of the ceramic tiers and have us come to the property instead.
We are out seven days a week, 7am to 7pm, covering Bonsall along the 76 corridor and the lanes running off it. Gates, codes and long driveways are normal here, so tell us what we need when you book. Your technician texts on the way and again when the vehicle is finished.
A full-car tint is normally a half-day job. We need the vehicle for the whole appointment and enough room around it to open every door.
Keep the windows up for three days while the film cures. Haze, small bubbles or trapped moisture is normal at first and clears on its own, usually inside one to two weeks. Warm, dry valley air tends to help rather than hinder.
Decided to get a ceramic coating and interior detail on my Tesla Model S and I am glad I chose Smith Bros! I couldn't believe how awesome my car looked after they came to my house and worked on it for hours. I got the Silver package and it is highly recommended. The interior detail add on was crucial. It looks brand new. Thanks Smith Bros!
Stellar company! Consistently exceptional mobile detailing and friendly customer service. I love that they have online booking and Sunday appointments, and you can book the evening before. Their systems are efficient and perfected. The price is also very reasonable compared to competitors.
I recently had my windows tinted and couldn't be happier. From start to finish, Gavin was professional, efficient, and detail-oriented. The quality of the work really stands out: no bubbles, no uneven edges, just a clean, flawless finish. I immediately noticed a difference in temperature inside my car, and the added privacy is a huge bonus. I highly recommend this place.

More finished cars, tint and everything else we do, are in our work.
A ceramic coating does for your paint what ceramic film does for your glass: it rejects UV, sheds water and keeps the finish from dulling. On a vehicle that collects valley dust it also makes the wash quicker. We are an authorized Opti-Coat installer, with tiers from $599. See the tiers and pricing.
Paint protection film takes the rock chips and road debris a coating cannot stop, which matters on gravel drives and unsealed shoulders. Packages start at $1,000 using self-healing Autobahn film. See PPF packages.
Booking more than one job at a time saves an appointment, since the vehicle only has to be free once. We also fit mobile auto detailing in Bonsall, ceramic coating in Bonsall and paint protection film in Bonsall.
We cover the surrounding area too, including Fallbrook, Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos and Valley Center. Everything we do is on the services page.
Full-car film runs from $249 for Bronze carbon on a coupe up to $699 for Gold ceramic on a full-size SUV, plus tax. Front windows on their own start at $149, and a windshield runs $299 to $499 depending on the film and the vehicle.
Every price is broken out by vehicle type in the packages above. Bonsall is charged at the same rates as the rest of the county.
Yes, that is normal out here. Give us the gate code or let the office know who to call when you book, and note anything about access we should plan for.
Your technician texts on the way, so you will know when to expect them at the gate.
Front side windows must let at least 70% of visible light through. Rear side windows and the rear windshield can be any shade you want.
We will help you land on a legal combination, and a 70% ceramic film at the front still rejects a lot of heat.
On the rear side windows and rear windshield, yes. On the front two side windows, no. Those are held to 70% VLT, so a 35% film up front is not road-legal in California.
Yes, and that is how nearly all our work here is done. A garage, carport or clean barn is ideal, since film wants a covered space and rural lots throw up dust.
The C2 Carbon film is the only exception and is in-shop only, whether as the Bronze full-car tier or the front-window option. That is fitted at our San Marcos shop.
Yes. Tint removal is $90 per hour and covers stripping the existing film off the vehicle before the new film goes on. How long it takes depends on the film and how long it has been on.
Old film that has gone purple or begun bubbling is the slowest to strip. We will give you a realistic estimate once we have seen it.
Three days. The film needs that time to adhere fully, and rolling a window down early can damage it.
That is trapped moisture and it is normal straight after an install. It clears as the film cures, usually within one to two weeks, and dry valley air tends to get it done sooner rather than later.
Yes, and measurably so. C2 Carbon rejects about 50% of heat, Pro Nano Ceramic about 76%, and Apex Ultra Ceramic about 95%. All three block 99% of UV.
If a hot parked vehicle is what you want to fix, that difference is what you are paying for, and it matters more than how dark the film looks.
The Silver and Gold ceramic packages carry a lifetime warranty on the film, as do the ceramic front-window and windshield options. The Bronze Carbon option carries a 3-year film warranty.
The warranty covers the film against bubbling, peeling, cracking and colour change.
We bring the studio to you. Tell us your vehicle and we'll handle the rest.
