Ceramic coating in Carlsbad

Coast or inland: it changes the job

Carlsbad is big enough that the same service does different work at each end of it.

Near the Village and the coast, salt is the main adversary. It bonds rather than settles, and it is why an uncoated car here needs a real wash rather than a rinse. The decontamination stage before the coating goes on takes longer on these cars, and it is the stage that decides how good the result looks.

Inland at Bressi Ranch, La Costa and the airport business parks, there is far less salt and considerably more sun. The coating is doing UV work rather than salt work, and cars that sit in an uncovered business-park lot all day are the ones that benefit most.

One local timing note: through a grey Carlsbad marine layer, curing runs slower than it does inland. It is not a fault and it does not affect the result — it just means the aftercare window is a little longer than the summer version.
